The LAIC collaborates with the university community to provide support in the pursuit of innovation and excellence in teaching and learning with technology.


The LAIC supports new ways of teaching and learning, including creative approaches to faculty-student engagement, course design and implementation, and the seamless integration of technology into the academic environment. LAIC also provides consultation, programs, training, and support for faculty, staff, and students

Getting Started

Walk-ins are welcome at the Learning and Applied Innovation Center (LAIC) in Quentin Burdick Building (QBB) 150C. We suggest for thesis formatting assistance please call the lab at (701) 231-5130 to schedule an appointment with the thesis formatting specialist.

  • Whisper Room: Use for meetings, creating audio recordings, or just a quiet space to work in.
  • Wacom Tablets: Use for drawing, animation, sketching, etc.

Universal Design/Accessibility

  • The services provided by LAIC promote the design and development of instructional models focused on creativity, innovation, and student success following universal design for learning (UDL) principles and accessibility guidelines.
