Software and Application Training Catalog

The following list includes workshop sessions that are offered by the Learning and Applied Innovation Center (LAIC). You may request session from this list or contact us to discuss your specific training needs.
On-Demand Resources (new this year)

The LAIC’s software and application training offerings are designed to increase your productivity and explore creative possibilities. Below is a list of workshops that have been moved to short on-demand training videos.
 
CMS (TYPO 3) Training: Learners will learn how to navigate the interface and identify the basic functionalities to create a webpage, and be able to develop advanced page contents.
Excel 1: For Beginners Only: Learners will gain familiarity with the Excel environment and some of the basic tasks it can perform.
Excel: Formula and Function Basics: Learners will gain a deeper understanding of Excel and how to use it to make and solve formulas.
Excel 2: Data Analysis with Sorts, Filters, Formatting, Pivot Tables, and Pivot Charts: Learners will use Excel to organize, analyze and display data in different ways.
InDesign: Getting Started: Learners will have a basic understanding of the workspace, tools, and panels.
Illustrator: Getting Started: Learners will have a basic understanding of the workspace, tools, and panels.
Introduction to Video Editing in Camtasia: Learners will perform basic screen capture recording and video editing in Camtasia.
Photoshop: Getting Started: This workshop will introduce the work area and common tools for selection and basic photo correction. You will also be introduced to working with layers.
Thesis Formatting: Graduate students will be able to identify and fix common problems in long word documents such as Thesis or Dissertations. 
YuJa: Getting Started: Learners will be taken through the process of recording videos, uploading them to blackboard as well as taking proctored exams through YuJa.
Zoom: Getting Started: Learners will be guided through the process of understanding the interface and all the features that Zoom offers.
