Zoom - Updating Desktop Client & Mobile App

Zoom, frequently, has new versions available for the desktop client and mobile app including new features and bug fixes. Zoom recommends checking for updates every couple weeks to receive the newest versions for the best video and audio experience.

Update Desktop Client

  • Log into to authenticate your account
  • Minimize your browser
  • Open your Zoom Desktop Client 
    • If you have not downloaded and installed your Zoom Desktop client, do so now
    • Maximize your browser window while still logged into
    • Go to the top right corner > Resources > Download Zoom Client > Download

Zoom Desktop Client

  • Go to the top right corner of the Zoom Desktop Client and click on your profile image
  • A dropdown list will appear listing your name and the account you are logged into
  • Make sure it indicates you are logged into your NDSU Zoom account:
  • Scroll down the list to Check for Updates

Check for Updates

  • Click on Check for Updates
  • If an update is available, this screen will appear

  • Click on the Update button to continue the process and install the update
  • If your Zoom Desktop Client is already on the latest version, your message will indicate you are up to date.

Update Mobile Version

  • Download the mobile version of Zoom from Google Play or the Apple App Store
  • Zoom will display a mobile notification when new updates are available
