Multi-Function Printer Setup (Windows)

Instructions on how to set up a Ricoh/Savin Multi-function Printer. Before the setup you will need to know the 'PRN' Name, Model and your 4/6 digit code for the MFP (Multi-Functional Printer). The PRN Name should be on a white label on the printer. The model number is usually on the front of a printer. Codes are obtainable by contacting your departments Administrative Assistant.

Windows 11/10

  1. Step 1
      1. If you are on a Windows 11 machine, scroll all the way down to ''Choose other OS'' and download the Device Software Manager for Windows 11 (64-bit). It has been set to Windows 10 by default.
    • On your machine, first launch Make Me Admin to elevate yourself as an administrator and start installing 'Device Software Manager' using your Bison credentials.
    • You may choose NOT to participate in the Quality Improvement Program as well as NOT to notify if driver updates are available. Multi-function printer setup stepsMulti-function printer setup steps
    • Select Agree and Go to Next on the End User License Agreement. 
    • Check the button beside Network to select a setup method for the printer. Hit Next. Multi-function printer setup steps
    • On "Select a device" prompt, check the box for Manually enter the settings from the bottom and go with Click if you cannot find the device. Multi-function printer setup steps
    • Select Specify device IP address as a search method before hitting Next. Multi-function printer setup steps
    • Enter the IP address of the printer to perform a search over the network. As soon as the printer shows up under "Device Name", ensure it's the correct model and click Next.

    • Click Next if PCL6 is listed as the "Driver Type". Multi-function printer setup steps
    • Provide a "Printer Name" according to your preference. You may set it as a default printer by checking/unchecking the box. Multi-function printer setup steps
    • Click Finish once the installation completes.
    • Do not attempt to print a test page.
  2. Step 2
    • Open your search in the Start Button - Search for "Devices and Printers" and select it.
    • Open the printer properties of the printer you just installed - Right click - "Printer Properties"
    • On the "General" tab - click "Printing Preferences"
    • In Printing Preferences window, click the tab at the top that says "Detailed Settings".  In the upper right area of Detailed Settings windows, in the "Menu" set of Icons, click on "Job Setup".
  3. Step 3
    • You need to type your USER CODE into the User Code area, as seen in the previous screen - click APPLY
Setup is now complete - please test your printer.
