NDSU Authentication for Your Services

Authentication is a way of correctly and securely identifying the user logging into a certain account. This protects your accounts from being logged into by someone who is not you.

There are two types of authentication for accessing your NDSU services

  1. Central Authentication Service (CAS) : Provides centralized authentication for supported Web applications, including those hosted by qualified third parties
  2. InCommon : the U.S. education and research identity federation that provides a common framework for trusted shared management of access to online resources
