Central Authentication Service (CAS)

Apereo CAS provides centralized authentication for supported web applications.

CAS is one of the two standard mechanisms for authentication at NDSU and is used where possible. It is the preferred mechanism for providing authentication for internal NDSU resources, and secondary for external resources after InCommon

What is an example of CAS Authentication?

A common place to see CAS Authentication used is when NDSU users log into their NDSU Google Accounts to access Google Apps (G Suite).

Use Cases

CAS can be used to secure web pages that only NDSU members should access, such as content being shared by a teacher meant only for NDSU students or a staff manager having content available for staff members.
