Overview
Safe computing is mostly about prudence, preparation, and prevention. NDSU has seen a large number of computers on the network become compromised. The following software are intended to help students, faculty, and staff protect their devices from viruses.
Recommended and supported security software for NDSU-owned computers:
Windows Defender - Installed by default on Windows 11 computers.
*Windows 10 computers are no longer supported and will be blocked upon detection on the network
ESET - Free for NDSU Owned Apple computers with a supported operating system. Please contact NDSU Software Licensing for details.
*Unsupported Apple operating systems will be blocked upon detection on the network
